The Fire District is involved in educating our residents on fire prevention and fire safety through many types of programs. We conduct Fire Safety Programs at each grade school from pre-school to 6th grade. The District has a Mobile Emergency Preparedness Simulator which we use to teach home fire safety to all ages. We are very active with our seniors and provide many services and educational programs to keep them safe.

SMOKE / CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
The South Elgin & Countryside Fire Protection District recognizes that working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors save lives and have created the Smoke / Carbon Monoxide Detector Replacement Program. The Home Depot in South Elgin has generously donated over 150 detectors that will help to assist the District’s ongoing mission to ensure all residents have smoke detectors in their homes. This program provides smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors, and replacement batteries free of charge to residents in our fire district. The detectors will be installed by firefighters to ensure the alarms are properly mounted and residents understand how to perform monthly tests. For more information on our program and receiving a free home fire safety review and to have smoke and carbon detectors installed, or to obtain battery replacements, please call
